Nigeria's Nwankwo Kanu tied the game 3-3 in the 90th minute, and the two teams are headed into sudden-death overtime in search of the "golden" goal.

Daniel Amokachi misplayed a cross to him on the right wing, but he recovered possession of the ball and won a throw-in when Rivaldo cleared the ball away. Jay Jay Okocha's throw-in found Teslim Fatusi at the right corner of the area. Fatusi dribbled in and hit a weak shot that nutmegged Brazil's Ronaldo Guira and rolled through to Kanu, who had keeper Dida behind him. With his back to the goal, Kanu flipped the ball gently into the air with his left foot, so that it just avoided the outstretched arms of the diving Dida, and then slammed the ball into the net with his right foot.

The teams have a five-minute break before overtime begins.
