WUSA: Announced the Boston BreakersÆ D Kate Sobrero was fined an undisclosed amount for unsportsmanlike conduct following the June 22 game at New York. Announced the Washington FreedomÆs Head Coach Jim Gabarra was fined an undisclosed amount for violating league rules concerning player substitutions. Boston: Activated D Christine McCann from the reserve squad. McCann becomes a regular member of the active roster with a semi-guaranteed contract (all players have guaranteed contracts if they are on a team's roster on July 1), filling the spot made available when F Robin Confer (back) went on the cap relief list. Philadelphia: Activated D Erica Iverson and M Laurie Schwoy from the 7-day Injured List. Placed M Lorrie Fair on the National Team Duty List. Returned F Courtney Saunders to the Reserve Squad. San Diego: Released M Trudi Sharpsteen. Activated D Holly Broome and M Holly Pierce from the Reserve Squad. Signed G Tracy Sharp as a reserve and activated her. Pierce, like McCann, becomes a regular member of the active roster with a semi-guaranteed contract. Called up G Tracy Sharp from the WPSL's Southern California Ajax. Sharp is a "temporary reserve," which the league allows when a club loses both regular goalkeepers to injury or national team duty (as is the case with the Spirit's Jaime Pagliarulo and Ulrika Karlsson, away with Sweden and the United States, respectively) and has just one goalkeeper (in this case reserve Carly Smolak) available for a game on its roster.
