U.S. women's national team coach Greg
Ryan named 20 players who will compete in the Peace Queen Cup
Oct. 28-Nov. 4 in South Korea. The eight-team tournament will be the
last test for the Americans before November's Gold Cup that will serve
as qualifying for the 2007 Women's World Cup in China.
Ryan called up one uncapped player: former North Carolina star Kacey White,
who has been playing in Sweden with KIF Orebro.
The Americans, who are unbeaten (13-0-3) in 2006, will play Denmark,
Australia and the Netherlands (a replacement for the late pullout of
North Korea) in Group B. Group A features South Korea, Brazil, Italy
and Canada.
