North Carolina snapped a five-game winless streak with a 3-1 win at Boston College in ACC action on Thursday night.

Senior Corey Ashe scored two goals in a four-minute span in the second half to lead the No. 13 Tar Heels, who thus avoid Tuesday's opening-round game in the ACC Tournament between the No. 8 seed and No. 9 seed N.C. State.

After goals by Ashe in the 52nd and 56th minutes, UNC senior Ben Hunter made it 3-0 in the 71st minute with his fourth goal of the season. BC's Alberto Sanchis scored a consolation goal in the 86th minute.
