Roy Lassiter, who led MLS in scoring his first season with the Tampa Bay Mutiny, is returning to the Mutiny after signing a three-year contract.
The agreement makes him one of the top paid players in MLS, according to the Tampa Tribune.
He had 25 goals in the regular season, six in the playoffs and one in the U.S. Open Cup for the Mutiny last season. He had been on loan to Italian club Genoa of but failed to score in limited play in Serie B.
Lassiter will play for the United States at U.S. Cup '97.
