The Mexican contingent in MLS increased by two when the Colorado Rapids signed 29-year-old midfielder David Patino and the Dallas Burn signed Damian Alvarez, a 24-year-old forward.
Both players currently play for Mexican First Division clubs -- Patino with Monterrey and Alvarez with Leon. The Mexican First Division season ends May 4.
Patino, who has also played with Pumas, has four goals in 34 international appearances with the Mexican national team. Alvarez, formerly with Atlas, has appeared eight times for Mexico.
