League news and notes

Columbus released Argentine forward Silvio Rudman and placed rookie forward Rob Jachym on waivers. Brian McBride was placed on injured reserve for another week and is expected to return to the Crew lineup on June 7 in Tampa, the same night that Thomas Dooley is expected to make his MLS debut.... The MetroStars will play Italian Serie A power Sampdoria at Giants Stadium on June 7. For ticket information, fans can call 1-888-4METROTIX.... D.C. United will most likely be without injured starters Ben Iroha and Raul Diaz Arce for the May 29 game in Columbus, but both may see action June 1 in San Jose.

Colorado -- M Chris Henderson (pulled hamstring) is questionable; D Brian Bates (sprained ankle) is probable. Columbus -- D Mike Clark (sprained ankle), M Jason Farrell (lacerated cheek), M Doctor Khumalo (bruised heel), and F Pete Marino (strained hamstring) are probable. Dallas -- none. D.C. United -- D Ben Iroha (sprained MCL) and F Raul Diaz Arce (sprained foot) are doubtful; M Joey Thieman (bruised thigh) is questionable; D Carlos Llamosa (strained hamstring), D Eddie Pope (bruised thigh), M John Maessner (groin pain), and F Jaime Moreno (bruised quadricep, back spasms) are probable. Kansas City -- none. Los Angeles -- none (Paul Caligiuri is on inactive list). MetroStars -- D Jeff Zaun (strained abdominal muscle), and M Guido (sprained ankle) are questionable; M Roberto Donadoni (strained quadricep) and M Mike Sorber (strained hamstring) are probable.
