5. WOMEN'S GOLD CUP: Mexico and Jamaica advance to semifinals

Mexico defeated Trinidad & Tobago, 3-0, at Tropical Park in Miami Sunday to set up a date with the USA Wednesday night in the semifinals of the Women's Gold Cup.

A berth in the 2007 Women's World Cup will be on the line when the USA faces Mexico at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. (TV: Fox Soccer Channel, live 10 pm ET/7 pm PT).

Patricia Perez, Monica Gonzalez and Maribel Dominguez scored for Mexico.


In Wednesday's other CONCACAF semifinal, Canada faces Jamaica, a 2-0 winner over Panama in Miami.
