FC Dallas, which fired Colin Clarke after he failed for the second straight year to guide Dallas to the MLS Cup it hosted, has named Clarke's assistant, Steve Morrow, head coach.

Morrow, a Northern Irishman like Clarke, was assistant coach the past two seasons. Morrow, 36, played two seasons for Dallas (2002-03) after a career in England that included 62 league games for Arsenal and 93 for Queen's Park Rangers.

Morrow will join the following as the 10th MLS player to head coach an MLS team:
Brian Bliss Kansas City, interim, (2006).
Mo Johnston MetroStars/Red Bull (2005-06); Toronto FC (2007-).
Dominic Kinnear San Jose (2004-05) Houston (2006-).
Peter Nowak D.C. United (2004-)
Robert Warzycha Columbus interim (2005).
Roy Wegerle Colorado interim (1996).
Richie Williams New York, interim (2006).
Frank Yallop San Jose (2001-03); Los Angeles Galaxy (2006-).
Walter Zenga New England (1998-99).
