Copa America: Draw for Paraguay '99

Here is the draw and schedule for the 1999 Copa America, to be held June 29-July 8 in Paraguay: Group A -- Paraguay, Peru, Japan, Bolivia. Group B -- Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela. Group C -- Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador.


GROUP A June 29 -- Peru vs. Japan, Paraguay vs. Bolivia. July 2 -- Peru vs. Bolivia, Paraguay vs. Japan. July 5 -- Japan vs. Bolivia, Paraguay vs. Peru. GROUP B June 30 -- Chile vs. Mexico, Brazil vs. Venezuela. July 3 -- Brazil vs. Mexico, Chile vs. Venezuela. July 6 -- Mexico vs. Venezuela, Brazil vs. Chile. GROUP C July 1 -- Uruguay vs. Colombia, Argentina vs. Ecuador. July 4 -- Uruguay vs. Ecuador, Argentina vs. Colombia. July 7 -- Colombia vs. Ecuador, Argentina vs. Uruguay. QUARTERFINALS July 10 -- Group A runner-up vs. Group B runner-up (Match 1), Group A winner vs. second-best third-place team (Match 2). July 11 -- Group C winner vs. best third-place team (Match 3), Group B winner vs. Group C runner-up (Match 4). SEMIFINALS July 13 -- Match 2 winner vs. Match 3 winner. July 14 -- Match 1 winner vs. Match 4 winner. THIRD-PLACE MATCH July 17 -- semifinal losers. CHAMPIONSHIP July 18 -- semifinal winners.
