MLS club Chivas USA has signed a jersey sponsorship deal with Comex Group, Mexico's leading paint company.

As part of the multiyear, multimillion-dollar agreement, Chivas USA's jerseys will be emblazoned with the Comex logo, while Comex's Frazee Paint brand becomes Chivas USA's first ever presenting sponsor.

Comex is one of North American's largest paint manufacturers with almost 3,000 paint stores. Comex's main manufacturing facility is the most automated and largest capacity plant in the North American coatings industry.

As part of MLS's move to give its clubs more commercial autonomy, it now allows them to sign individual jersey sponsor deals.

Toronto FC (BMO Financial Group), the Los Angeles Galaxy (Herbalife) and Real Salt Lake (XanGo) all have jersey deals. The New York Red Bulls also have the logo of their parent company on their jerseys.
