Did you notice how raucous the atmosphere became and how full the stadium got by the end of the USA-Canada match? Barely at a quarter capacity once the first semifinal began, Soldier Field was nearly full mid-way through the second-half as Mexico's fans arrived in droves. And boy did they want Canada to win: Landon Donovan and DaMarcus Beasley noticeably started receiving boos, pre-mature chants of "Mexico" suddenly became audible, and the so-called Mexican wave was in full-effect.

"It's never a pro-U.S. crowd when you play in Chicago," Beasley, the former Fire star, said after the Americans' 2-1 victory over Canada. Fortunately for the tournament's organizers, and unfortunately for the Americans, Soldier Field is also the location of the final, which will be between the USA and Mexico after all. There will certainly be U.S. support, but don't count on Sunday's final feeling like anything less than a mini-Azteca Stadium.
