Chelsea-Club America friendly in California draws 47,329

A crowd of 47,329 at Northern California's Stanford Stadium watched English Premier club Chelsea down Mexico's Club America on Saturday. John Terry notched the winning goal in the 84th minute. On July 21, Chelsea faces the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center in what is set to be David Beckham's Galaxy debut .

In the clash between Chelsea and Club America, which each finished runners-up in their respective league's last season, Juan Carlos Mosqueda gave the Mexican club a 1-0 lead in the third minute.

Chelsea gained momentum in the second half and equalized through French newcomer Florent Malouda, who also set up Terry's winner.

Malouda, 27, joined Chelsea from Lyon on a $27 million transfer.
