If one looks at these rankings one would conclude that Soccer is hardly played west of the Rocky Mountains. No teams in the top 10, 1 in the top 20, 3 in top 25. And yet come tournament time, lo and behold several western teams will go far in the tournament, and most years 1 or 2 will make the final four. Just like the NCAA tournament selection process, it seems clear that east coast schools dominate the voting. Utterly meaningless.
