Soccer America Women's Player of the Week

Virginia senior Shannon Foley, who tied a career-high for points with her two-goal, one-assist performance in a 4-0 win over ranked Colorado, is the Soccer America Women's Player of the Week for games played Sept. 10-16.

FOLEY PROFILE

Foley, who returned after sitting out the 2006 season with a knee injury, also had a goal and an assist on Sunday as the Cavs rolled over ranked Arizona, 4-0, to win the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic.

The assist was the 30th of her career, tying the Cavalier all-time record.

Foley, a product of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., was named the MVP of the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic. She leads the 4-1-1 Cavs with five goals and three assists.

Her return to form has been even more critical because Jess Rostedt, Virginia's top returning striker, went down with a knee injury of her own and may be lost for the season.
