Senior forward Sherron Manswell, whose two goals less than four minutes apart gave Boston College a 2-0 win over then-No. 6 Maryland in their Atlantic Coast Conference opener, is the Soccer America Men's Player of the Week for games played Sept. 11-16.

MANSWELL PROFILE

Manswell, who scored only one goal in 2006, scored his second and third goals of the season in the win over Maryland.

The first came when he beat two defenders in the 26th minute, and the second came in the 29th minute after Fairleigh Dickinson transfer Alejandro Bedoya led freshman Shawn Chin, whose cross found Manswell free in the area.

Manswell's best season came in 2005 when he scored a team-high 10 goals, leading the BC attack in the absence of injured star Charlie Davies, who returned last season and then turned pro with Swedish club Hammarby.

Manswell, a native of Trinidad & Tobago, didn't score in an injury-marred freshman season.
