David Beckham arrived in London on Thursday to visit his father, who has been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack.

The England midfielder, who hasn't played a game for the Los Angeles Galaxy since Aug. 30 because of a knee injury, took the first flight from Los Angeles to London after hearing the news. Wearing dark glasses, Beckham sat in first class on the 12-hour flight and was the first person to leave the British Airways plane.

The 59-year-old Ted Beckham was hospitalized on Wednesday night and was reported to be in stable condition at the London Chest Hospital. He had surgery and is in intensive care.
