[WOMEN'S TOP 25] Slumping Santa Clara had to settle for a 0-0 tie at home with UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday night.

After starting out 7-0-1, the injury-riddled Broncos are only 1-3-2 in their last six games. The UCSB game marked the fourth time in the six games Santa Clara failed to score.

"We played a very tough UCSB team tonight," said Bronco coach Jerry Smith. "We appreciated how hard they worked in the game overall and to defend us. We came out with a casual approach tonight and played with the mentality of not expending too much energy because we have a tough week ahead of us. But in the end we probably used up more energy. We were outworked, but the good news is that we didn't lose."
