The Los Angeles Galaxy again failed to beat a USL team in regulation time for the second time within a week, but at last this time marquee attraction David Beckham made an impact, assisting on Edson Buddle's goal in a 1-1 tie with Minnesota Thunder in front of 20,123 fans at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. Last Wednesday, the Galaxy played to a scoreless tie with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Beckham's seventh minute pass from 30 yards out set up Buddle's close-range strike.

The Galaxy did claim victory by prevailing in a penalty-kick shootout.

Beckham played 73 minutes.
