[AMERICANS IN ENGLAND] Goalkeeper Brad Friedel was shelled by the 17th-place team in England's second-tier league when Blackburn fell, 4-1, to Coventry in the FA Cup third round. Fulham, with Carlos Bocanegra and Clint Dempsey, was also embarrassed, but not eliminated, when the EPL club tied, 2-2, with third-tier Bristol. Keeper Tim Howard won't have regretted sitting out Everton's 1-0 loss to third-tier Oldham. Bobby Convey took a head-butt in Reading's tie at Tottenham.

Fulham is in the middle of a 10-game winless streak. Dempsey scored in the 11th minute but the strike was called back because committed by teammate Steve Elliot.

Eddie Lewis went the full 90 as Derby, the EPL's last-place team, tied second-tier Sheffield Wednesday, 2-2. Benny Feilhaber stayed on the bench for Derby.

With goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann, resting Reading tied fellow EPL club Tottenham, 2-2. Convey was head-butted during an altercation with Tom Huddlestone, who was red-carded while the American received a yellow.

Jonathan Spector played the second half for EPL club West Ham as it tied league rival Manchester City.

Jay DeMerit went the full 90 for second-tier Watford in its 2-0 win over league rival Crystal Palace.

Zak Whitbread played 90 minutes for Millwall in a scoreless tie with fellow third-tier club Walsall.
