5. GOLD CUP: Honduras completes field

As expected, Honduras claimed the 12th and final berth in the 2007 Gold
Cup with a 9-1 victory over Nicaragua Thursday in the fifth-place game
at the UNCAF Digicel Cup.
Veteran Wilmer Velasquez had
four goals, and former MLS and A-League striker Saul Martinez added three for the
Catrachos, who join Digicel Cup semifinalists El Salvador,
Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama as the five Central American
representatives.
They join the USA, Canada and Mexico from North America and Haiti,
Trinidad & Tobago, Guadeloupe and Cuba from the Caribbean in the
Gold Cup, which will be played June 6-24 at six U.S. venues.
