Sir Alex defends gesture

[VIDEO] Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson denied intentionally making an abusive gesture at Reading fans near the end of his team's 2-0 win on Saturday. Of the gesture, known in Britain as an "up yours" sign, Ferguson said, "All I was doing was expressing my relief at winning one of our hardest games of the season."

Ferguson, who served a two-game ban earlier this season for using foul and abusive language toward referee Mark Clattenburg, had been jeered by Reading fans for complaining to the fourth official about the four minutes of stoppage time added to the game while Man U was leading, 1-0.

Ferguson made the two-arm gesture after Cristiano Ronaldo's stoppage-time goal. He may face a Football Association investigation.
