[IRAQ] Norwegian Egil Olsen lasted all of one World Cup qualifier as coach of Iraq's national team, the reigning Asian champion.

Following its 1-1 tie with China in their opening game last month, Iraq has replaced Olsen with Iraqi Adnan Hamad, currently coaching Jordan's Al Faisaly.

Hamad will begin his new job on March 13, and his contract with the team ends in April.

Iraq plays Qatar in Doha on March 26. Because of the turmoil at home, the squad trains abroad, mostly the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Olsen, who led Norway to the 1994 and '98 World Cup finals, took over for Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira, who resigned after leading Iraq to the 2007 Asian Cup title.
