Ian Sawyers hired by Jersey Sky Blue

[WPS] Former WUSA coach Ian Sawyers, husband of Hall of Famer Julie Foudy, has been named the head coach and general manager of the New Jersey/New York team in Women's Professional Soccer, which begins play in 2009.

Sawyers and Foudy, who have a one-year-old daughter, Isabel, will relocate from California to New Jersey. Foudy works for ESPN, based in Bristol, Conn.

The WPS team will play at Rutgers University.

Jersey Sky Blue, also hired Denise Reddy, assistant coach of the Sky Blue W-League team, as the WPS team's assistant coach.
