[OFF THE POST] Brazilian World Cup champ Ronaldo, who is recovering from knee surgery, was questioned by Rio de Janeiro police regarding a run-in with transvestites on Sunday. The AC Milan striker admitted accompanying a prostitute, whom he believed to be female, to a motel, where they were met by other transvestites who allegedly tried to black mail the player.

According to the Associated Press, Ronaldo told police that one of them requested $30,000 to hide the story from the media. (Prostitution is not illegal in Brazil.)

"He admitted to everything, he wanted to have fun," Police inspector Carlos Augusto Nogueira told AP. "But he committed no crime at all, it was immoral at best."

Nogueira said he believed Ronaldo's version of the story because the transvestite left the police station before completing questioning.
