[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS CUP] Mexico's Pachuca successfully defended its Concacaf Champions Cup title with a 2-1 home win over Costa Rica's Saprissa for a 3-2 aggregate victory. Pachuca's Jose Francisco Torres, a 20-year-old Texas product, didn't see action in the second-leg of the final on Wednesday, but started and played 62 minutes in the first leg, and saw action in both semifinals.

Pachuca had ousted D.C. United in the semifinals while Saprissa reached the final at the Houston Dynamo's expense.

Argentine Christian Gimenez (3rd minute) and Colombian Luis Gabriel Rey scored for Pachuca while Saprissa's Jairo Arrieta struck three minutes into stoppage time.

The win adds to Pachuca's impressive title run since 2006: two Mexican league titles, the 2007 and 2008 Concacaf Champions Cups, the 2006 Copa Sudamericana, and the 2007 SuperLiga.

The title win qualifies Pachuca for the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2008.

The 47-year-old Concacaf Champions Cup is being replaced by the Concacaf Champions League, which launches in August.
