FC Dallas fans on Sunday watched history repeated as farce when, for the second season running, their team fell behind by four first-half goals to the LA Galaxy. Last year in the SuperLiga they turned things around to a face-saving 6-5 defeat, but this time the home side failed to launch a comeback and ended up 5-1 losers, a defeat that Coach Steve Morrow called "embarrassing. We're all very much ashamed of ourselves in the locker room."

The other difference this year? David Beckham played for the Galaxy and continued his creative partnership with Landon Donovan that's helped make L.A. Major League Soccer's highest scorers. "The players in midfield won the ball and gave it to me or Landon," Beckham said. "So it freed my game up, and it also freed other players up, especially in the first half when I had two players marking me."

Beckham enjoyed particularly close attention from the Dallas defensive midfield enforcer Adrian Serioux, who was red-carded for serious foul play with quarter of an hour left after taking out Beckham from behind. "He could have broke my leg," Beckham said. "I think it was a bad tackle personally. It's not my decision to give out cards, but the referee decided it. Also the player was saying, 'Welcome, baby welcome' after he tackled me." Read the original story...
