[OFF THE POST] Diego Maradona scored "with the hand of god," while Kaka shows off his undershirt that proclaims, "I belong to Jesus." Soccer and religion go back many years. One of the attractions for Euro '08 visitors in Vienna next month will be the "Fußball und Religion" exhibition at the Vienna Catholic Church's dommuseum.

"There are many parallels between the cult of football and the rituals of the Christian Church," museum director Bernhard Boehler told Reuters.

He hopes the exhibition will bring soccer fans and museum-goers together.

"Typical football fans might be afraid of museums," he said, "while the traditional museum-going public might look to avoid football supporters, but we are hoping to bring both sides together with this exhibition."

Austria's Catholic church will have its own events and services. It even has a slogan for use during the tournament: "The Church -- on the ball for 2008 years."
