Increasingly, elite players (boys and girls) are being forced to choose between high school and club soccer. The situation in Southern California, where players had to miss the winter high school season because of commitments in the new Development Academy program, is nothing new.

Should players be forced to miss out on the prep experience of playing with their schoolmates? Is the club scene so much better that it should become the exclusive soccer experience of rising stars?
