Oscar Lopez, who played for Cal South at the 2008 U.S. Youth Soccer ODP National Championships, has left his home in West Covina, Calif., to join Tigres of the Mexican First Division.

Lopez most recently played for West Coast FC after stints at Stampede FC and Celtic Harps.

He was offered a three-yeat contract to move to Monterrey.

Tigres is one of several Mexican pro clubs recruiting heavily in the Mexican communities of U.S. cities.
