Bay Area in, Dallas out (until 2010)

[WPS] Weeks before its first player moves will be made, Women's Professional Soccer, the new women's league, announced Wednesday that it will add a team in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2009 and its Dallas team will start in 2010, not 2009 as planned.

There was no announcement of a stadium for the Bay Area -- a stumbling block for the Dallas team -- but the team's new owners told the San Jose Mercury-News that former N.C. State and Santa Clara star Albertin Montoya, now a coach with the MVLA Soccer Club, will be its coach.

The Bay Area ownership group will be led by Brian and Nancy NeSmith.
