Los Angeles names Rogers women's coach
A day before the first Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) allocations will be announced, the Los Angeles team named Abner Rogers as its head coach.
London-born Rogers has served as the president and director of coaching at the Laguna Hills Eclipse, a top Southern California girls program. He will step down as director of coaching but continue as Eclipse president.
The Los Angeles team set to debut in April, 2009 at The Home Depot Center.
Rudi Bianchi is the managing partner of the new franchise which is also owned by AEG.
