Long night for Jozy and Freddy

[AMERICANS ABROAD] As October ends, reality set in for U.S. national team teen stars Jozy Altidore and Freddy Adu: It's not going to be easy to make it in Europe.

Altidore's first start for Spanish power Villarreal turned into a nightmare when it was humiliated by third division Polideportivo Ejido, 5-0, in the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Cup.

It was an even longer night for Adu, who didn't play on Wednesday night in Monaco, which beat Nancy, 3-1, for its first win since Sept. 13.

Adu has played only 69 minutes in five league appearances but had heretofore at least been on the bench.
