Gale Heubach, U.S. Youth Soccer's events manager, died Wednesday at the age of 51, two days after suffering an aneurysm at her home.

The native of Waco, Texas, joined the US Youth Soccer national staff as executive secretary in 1998 and was promoted to event manager where she served for eight years.

"Gale Heubach was a gifted manager, an unparalleled organizer, meticulous in details, and someone that loved her chosen profession and the ability to witness firsthand the excitement and joy of countless young people throughout her decade at U.S. Youth Soccer," said Larry Monaco, US Youth Soccer president. "For the U.S. Youth Soccer family, the standard of excellence set by Gale Heubach will live on; she will be sorely missed."

Heubach is survived by her husband, Gary.

U.S. Youth Soccer will establish a memorial in her honor; checks can be made to U.S. Youth Soccer.
