The Soccer Organization of Charlottesville-Albemarle became the first club team from West Central Virginia to win a state championship when  it won the U-18 boys title at the Virginia Youth Soccer Association's state tournament for boys and girls teams in the under-14 to under-18 divisions.

SOCA beat the Roanoke Elite, 2-0, on goals by midfielder Ben Coffey (half volley) and Alex Moore (header) in the second half.

In the semifinals, SOCA beat the Springfield Royals, the defending State Cup champions, 3-1.
