[MLS HONORS] FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper, who scored 18 goals in 2008 after recovering from a broken shinbone suffered in 2007, was named MLS Comeback Player of the Year.

Cooper, 24, started all 30 of FC Dallas' regular-season games and added three assists to his 18 goals, which put him in second-place behind Los Angeles' Landon Donovan in the 2008 scoring race. Cooper had suffered the broken shinbone eight games into the 2007 season.

Four of Cooper's 2008 goals were gamewinners.

In three MLS seasons, he has 33 goals and nine assists in 75 regular-season games.
