[MEXICO] The Mexican national team, which plays more friendly games in the USA than on its own soil, opens its 2008 U.S. tour Jan. 28 in Oakland, Calif., against Sweden, the homeland of Mexico coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Mexico drew a sellout crowd in Oakland in 2007 when 47,000 fans watched it beat Ecuador, 4-2. The Mexican Olympic team (U-23s) also sold out in Oakland last March when it played Australia to a 1-1 tie.

Mexico's five USA-based exhibition games in 2008 averaged 43,406 fans.
