Berlusconi Gives Up On Serie A Title

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has said his team will not win the Italian Serie A next year now that it is nine points behind city rival Inter. The team must focus on qualification for the Champions League instead.

"Has the Scudetto slipped from our grasp?" he asked. "Well, nine points is a lot. In any case, we will try to reduce the gap because that is essential for us, so we can return to fighting it out in Europe in the Champions League. The Champions League place is our objective and I think we are able to achieve that."

Milan failed to even reach that goal last season, and has been playing in the UEFA Cup this campaign.
