Day 5 Wrapup/by Paul Kennedy
The YOUTH SOCCER REPORTER continues daily coverage of Disney's Soccer Showcase presented by Chelsea Football Club.

Girls play began on Wednesday with 196 teams in action in 15 divisions in the under-15 to under-18 age groups.

The surprise of the day was Eclipse Select's 2-1 win over the defending national champion Dallas Texans Red Dallas in under-16 play.

The Dallas Texans Red Dallas are also the defending national champions in the under-17 age group, where they opened with a 4-0 win over the Blue Valley Stars Mallorca.

The Texans were held to a 0-0 tie by Dallas rival D'Feeters in under-15 play.

Their third national championship team did not travel to Disney's Soccer Showcase for the under-18 competition. Eclipse Select, runner-up at last year's National Championships, was victorious with a 3-0 win over Cold Spring Harbor/Huntington United in its U-18 Showcase opener.

Follow all the action with the YOUTH SOCCER REPORTER each morning through Sunday.
