Eclipse Select sets pace with two titles

Eclipse Select, the top girls club in Soccer America's national rankings for the last two years, was the only club to claim two girls championships at Disney's Soccer Showcase, taking U-18 and U-16 titles -- both in Showcase divisions.

Eclipse defeated Albertson SC Fury, 3-1, in the U-18 final to defend its Disney title. It finished second to the Dallas Texans Red Dallas in last year's U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships. The Texans did not travel to Florida for the Disney's Soccer Showcase.

The U-18 team is one of the deepest in the country. Its roster includes three members of the U.S. U-17 Women's Cup team: goalies Alexa Gaul, Taylor Vancil and Rachel Quon.

The U-16 team, the defending Illinois state champion, defeated a pair of East Coast powers, PDA Tsunami and FC Stars of Massachusetts, by 1-0 scores in the knock out phase.
