[WOMEN'S COACHING  MOVES] N.C. State named Fresno State head coach Steve Springthorpe as the new head coach of the Wolfpack women's program.

He compiled a 52-40-12 record in five years and transformed the Bulldog program into a WAC title contender that appeared in the conference tournament final four straight years, winning twice (2005 and 2008).

Springthorpe takes over a program that was 8-12 last fall and finished 11th in the ACC under Laura Kerrigan, who stepped down in November after 11 seasons at the helm of the Wolfpack.

Prior to being named head coach at Fresno State, Springthorpe served as an assistant coach at Florida for five seasons, working primarily with the goalkeepers and was involved with recruiting and scouting under Coach Becky Burleigh.

-- Erin Aubry, who led Morehead State to its first conference title in 2008, has been named the new head  coach at Arkansas.

Aubry was an assistant coach at Auburn and Ole Miss before being named head coach at Morehead State in March 2005.

Aubry, the seventh head coach in Arkansas history, will inherit a Razorback team that finished 11-8 last season, after a school-record 9-1 start. Arkansas hasn't advanced to the SEC Tournament since 2000.

She replaces Gordon Henderson, who resigned his position as head coach after five years in Fayetteville.
