[AMERICANS ABROAD] U.S. midfielder DaMarcus Beasley says he's ready to leave Glasgow Rangers if he doesn't get more playing time. He also says he loves the club he joined in the summer of 2007 but fears that his U.S. national team future will be jeopardized if he remains on the Scottish Premier League's bench.

"My future is something I've got to think about because I've got a lot of things going on with the United States national team," Beasley said. "We've got World Cup qualifiers coming up and the Confederations Cup in South Africa this summer. I want to be involved in all of that."

Beasley, 26, left for Europe in 2004 after four and a half seasons with the Chicago Fire. The veteran of two World Cups played two seasons for Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and one season for EPL club Manchester City before moving the Rangers.

Since arriving in Scotland in June 2007, he's appeared in only 19 league games, scoring twice. He's made eight appearances this season. He was seeing frequent action his first season before suffering a knee injury.

Beasley last played in a 7-1 win over Hamilton 7-1 on Dec. 6.

"I've got to look out for myself first and foremost," Beasley said Wednesday. "If I'm not playing here, I should move on.

"Nobody has told me I'm free to go but I know the [coach] has said in the papers he'll have to consider offers for players who aren't playing if they are made."

Beasley is under contract through 2010.

"I love being here, he said. "I love the club and I'm hopeful I can get back in and play my part in the team. I don't have any desire to go somewhere else because I'm happy here."
