PDL phenom Garcia headed to Houston

[MLS] Felix Garcia, considered the top prospect to come out the amateur Premier Development League is expected to sign with the Houston Dynamo on Thursday, according to multiple reports. The 18-year-old Garcia, who has impressed in stints with the U.S. under-20 national team, spent the last two seasons with the PDL's Laredo Heat.

In his first season, he converted the penalty kick that gave the Heat the PDL championship. In 2008, he scored 11 goals in 12 games for the runner-up Heat.

The 6-foot-2 Garcia, a Generation adidas player, scored three goals for the U.S. U-20s at the 2008 Copa Chivas in Mexico.

He is a senior at LBJ High School in Laredo.
