Former Mexican national team coach Manual Lapuente was let go by Tigres UANL on Sunday after a 3-2 home letdown against Club America on Saturday and just six points from seven Group Three games in the championship of the Mexican Clausura.

Lapuente, who guided Mexico to the Round of 16 of the1998 FIFA World Cup, spent less than year managing the Monterey club and joined two other coaches that have lost their job in the Clausura campaign.

Current champions Toluca remained unbeaten and sit atop Group Three with 15 points after a 1-1 tie with Tecos UAG, which leads Group Two with 10 points. Pachuca, the competition's only other undefeated team, leads Group One with 17 points following a 3-0 win over Ciudad Juarez.
