Jacob and Hickey take awards

Isang Jacob, coach of the Indy Burn Premier Eagles, and Miriam Hickey, the Vardar East girls coaching director, won the 2008 U.S. Youth Soccer adidas Competitive Coach of the Year awards at the at the U.S. Youth Soccer Awards Gala.

Jacob led his Indy Burn team to seven consecutive Indiana state championships. All of his 2008 graduates play in college, 17 of them at Division I schools. He also serves as the head Indiana US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program coach.

Hickey has 20 years of coaching experience, including work as U.S. Youth Soccer ODP Region II staff coach, a college coach and coach of the Netherlands national team.
