[WPS] Tiffeny Milbrett scored 100 goals in 202 international matches for the U.S. women's national team, but that wasn't good enough to get selected in the recent Women's Professional Soccer draft. FC Gold Pride was the only one of four clubs to respond favorably to the 36-year-old striker's request for a tryout, after which she won a spot on its 24-player roster for the 2009 season.

Since leaving the U.S. national team program in 2006, Milbrett has played in Sweden and more recently for the W-League's Vancouver Whitecaps.

Milbrett joins Brandi Chastain, Canada's top striker, Christine Sinclair, and current U.S. national team members Nicole Barnhart and Rachel Buehler on FC Gold Pride.

FC Gold Pride will kick off the 2009 WPS season on April 5 at home against the Boston Breakers at Buck Shaw Stadium.
