Red Bull teams excel in Spain

The New York Red Bulls sent two teams to the Mediterranean International Cup in Spain, where they both reached the second round. The U-14s went unbeaten, going 4-0-1, while the U-15s, playing up in the U-16 division, advanced to the round of 16 before falling to Valencia.

The U-14 Red Bulls won their group with a 3-0-0 record and did not lose in the second round, where it was eliminated on goal difference

Cris da Silva's team defeated Kenkre FC (India), FPE Mataro (Spain) and Gimnastic Manresa (Spain) in the first round. It edged Nastic Tarragona SAD (Spain), 1-0, on a second-half goal from Luis Monez after tying Alboraya UD (Spain), 0-0.

Thanks to two goals by Danny Bartok, both assisted by Adam Najem, the U-15s earned a 3-1 win over FFC Garraf Penedes (Spain) in the final game of the group stage earned the U-15s a wild-card berth in the knockout phase of the U-16 division.
