OBITUARY: Nnamdi Nwokocha
Nnamdi Nwokocha, one of the most prolific scorers in ACC history, died of meningitis recently at the age of 46 in his native Nigeria.
Nwokocha followed his brother Christian to Clemson and was named ACC Player of the Year as a freshman in 1979 when he led the Tigers to the NCAA Division I final. He was an All-American in 1979 and 1981.
He is first on the Clemson career list and second in the ACC for most points with 171. He is also second in school history and third in league history in goals scored with 74.
Nwokocha had been working in eastern Nigeria as a governmental advisor in sport affairs.
