Region IV finals set to begin

Five girls and three boys teams will seek to defend their titles at the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships that begin Monday at the Lancaster National Soccer Center in Lancaster, Calif.

Two Slammers FC girls teams -- the U-18s and U-16s -- return to the regionals Other girls teams who are defending champions are the Mustang Fury (U-13), So Cal Blues (U-14) and Colorado Nike Rush (U-19).

The three boys teams back at the regionals are West Coast FC (U-13), Arsenal FC (U-1) and Cisco Toros (U-19).

Play begins with round-robin games Monday through Wednesday. Play concludes with the finals on June 21.
