Before the start of the Clausura 2009 season, Francisco "Panchito" Mendoza joined the club of his dreams as he left Chivas USA of the MLS and returned home to play for Guadalajara. Now, Mendoza is off on another far-flung journey, this time to the jungles of southern Mexico. Leaving the Chivas family for the first time in his career, Mendoza joined Jaguares in the "Mexican Draft," in which clubs gather to work out the transfers of players who are under contract.

Mendoza expressed discontent with the move. "They had talked to me over the last two weeks about how they weren't going to make any moves," Mendoza said. "It really bothered me, but that's something you only see here in Mexico."

Mendoza played in just three games for Guadalajara. He is also the third of four reinforcements brought in for the Clausura 2009 season to have left the club.
